Channel 4 Restructures Commissioning Post-Ian Katz

Channel 4 has unveiled its commissioning structure for the period following Ian Katz's departure, implementing significant promotions for Louisa Compton and Kiran Nataraja. This new organizational framework, effective in November, will operate under the leadership of the incoming CEO, Priya Dogra. The role previously held by Chief Content Officer Ian Katz will be redefined as Director of Programmes.
In this restructured environment, the Director of Programmes will work alongside the Director of News, Digital and Sport. Louisa Compton has been promoted to Chief Content Officer, a newly created position that will oversee all content commissioning. Kiran Nataraja has also received a promotion, taking on the role of Director of Programme Acquisition and Partnerships. These changes are designed to streamline content acquisition and foster new strategic alliances.
The broadcaster stated that these appointments reflect a commitment to innovation and a forward-thinking approach to content strategy. Compton's expanded remit will focus on identifying and nurturing diverse creative talent, while Nataraja's role will be crucial in securing a wide range of programming and exploring collaborative opportunities. The aim is to ensure Channel 4 continues to deliver distinctive and high-quality content to its audience across all platforms.
