Cameras get an Apple Intelligence boost in Apple Home
Apple announced at WWDC that its HomeKit Secure Video service will integrate Apple Intelligence starting with iOS 17. This integration will enable cameras connected to Apple Home to analyze footage and automatically generate descriptive summaries of events captured. Users will also gain the ability to search through video recordings using natural language queries across all connected cameras. For instance, a user could ask to find clips showing "when the dog was in the backyard" or "when a package was delivered to the front door." This feature aims to make reviewing and retrieving specific moments from home security footage more intuitive and efficient. The enhanced analysis capabilities are expected to provide more context and detail in the generated summaries, improving the overall user experience for managing home security footage. The update is slated for release with iOS 17, making these advanced AI-powered features available to users later this year.
