BYD to install thousands of 5-minute EV chargers across Europe

BYD announced plans to install thousands of 5-minute electric vehicle (EV) chargers across Europe by the end of 2025. The Chinese EV manufacturer has already deployed its first Flash Chargers in Germany and the United Kingdom, with a target of 3,000 installations continent-wide. This initiative aims to accelerate BYD's expansion within the European automotive market by addressing charging infrastructure concerns. The new chargers are designed to significantly reduce EV charging times, with a stated capability of adding approximately 300 kilometers (186 miles) of range in just five minutes. BYD's move signals a commitment to enhancing the charging experience for EV owners and bolstering the adoption of electric vehicles in Europe.
