Hartung's tenure was marked by a significant restructuring effort aimed at enhancing the company's competitiveness, which included the elimination of thousands of jobs. He had been at the helm of the Stuttgart-based company since January 1, 2022, and his departure comes as Bosch navigates a challenging period for the automotive industry, characterized by the transition to electric vehicles and increased competition.
