The New Zealand SailGP team, known as the Black Foils, is actively engaged in environmental advocacy, particularly in their fight against destructive marine trawling. Co-chief executive Blair Tuke commented on the team's recent performance at the Great Britain Sail Grand Prix, where they secured fifth place, acknowledging that their racing "not quite perfect." This event followed a significant crash in Auckland in February, which necessitated extensive repairs to their boat, causing them to miss four races and requiring the vessel to be "pretty much rebuilt."
