Bilt Adds Amtrak as First Rail Transfer Partner

Bilt Rewards has announced its 26th transfer partner, Amtrak Guest Rewards, marking its first foray into rail travel partnerships. This new integration, effective September 23, allows Bilt members to convert their Bilt Points into Amtrak points at a 2:1 ratio. For every 1,000 Bilt Points transferred, members will receive 500 Amtrak points. To facilitate this, Bilt members must first link their Amtrak Guest Rewards account to their Bilt account. Once linked, transfers can be initiated in increments of 1,000 Bilt points, with a minimum transfer requirement of 1,000 points. Bilt states that these transfers are designed to be nearly instantaneous. While The Points Guy's September 2026 valuations do not currently include Amtrak Guest Rewards, an estimation suggests that Amtrak points could be valued at approximately 2.6 cents each. Based on TPG's September 2026 valuation of 1,000 Bilt Points at $22, a transfer of 1,000 Bilt Points to Amtrak would yield 500 Amtrak points, valued at roughly $13 for Amtrak travel. This valuation highlights that while other transfer partners, such as World of Hyatt, Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan, and Air Canada Aeroplan, might offer greater point value, the Amtrak partnership provides a more valuable redemption option compared to using Bilt points for rent payments or statement credits. Amtrak Guest Rewards points can be redeemed for travel to over 500 destinations across 46 U.S. states and parts of Canada. This includes popular routes like the Northeast Corridor, connecting Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, New York City, and Boston, as well as more than 40 other rail routes, including scenic long-haul journeys. Amtrak's redemption system does not rely on a traditional award chart; instead, the number of Amtrak Guest Rewards points required for a redemption is typically tied to the cash fare of the ticket. To book an award trip, members need to log into their Amtrak Guest Rewards account and select the "Use points" option when searching for available travel. This partnership significantly broadens the utility of Bilt Rewards, offering members a new avenue for travel planning and exploration through the extensive Amtrak network.
