Stephen Ross Unveils $10 Billion Vision for ‘Wall Street of the South’

Billionaire real estate developer Stephen Ross has launched a 10,000-square-foot immersive Experience Center in downtown West Palm Beach, Florida, to showcase his ambitious $10 billion vision for transforming the area into the "Wall Street of the South." Ross' firm, Related Ross, in partnership with fellow billionaire Ken Griffin, plans to invest over $10 billion across Palm Beach County with the goal of attracting global companies and skilled talent to South Florida. This initiative marks a significant expansion for Ross, who previously led major developments like New York City's Hudson Yards.

The planned developments are extensive, encompassing approximately 6 million square feet of new office space, 1.4 million square feet of condominium units, 700,000 square feet dedicated to retail and restaurant establishments, and 870 hotel rooms. These projects will span 70 acres in West Palm Beach and will be integrated with Brightline, South Florida's high-speed rail system connecting Miami and Orlando. The luxury waterfront condominium, Shorecrest, has already commenced construction, signaling the early stages of Ross' expansive project.

The newly opened Experience Center is designed to offer an immersive and interactive preview of Ross' vision. Utilizing virtual reality, engaging exhibits, and detailed architectural models, the center allows potential buyers, businesses seeking office locations, and the public to virtually explore the future West Palm Beach downtown area. A large-scale virtual replica of the development, displayed on a giant screen, aims to provide visitors with a palpable sense of being within the future urban landscape. This approach goes beyond traditional sales offices, offering a comprehensive storytelling experience, according to Jordan Rathlev, an executive vice president at Related Ross.
