'Big smile!' - Evans reaches second round of Wimbledon qualifying

Dan Evans defeated Juan Carlos Prado Angelo in the first round of Wimbledon qualifying on June 24, 2024, advancing to the second round. Evans stated that not receiving a direct wild card into the main Wimbledon draw did not serve as a motivating factor for his performance. The British player secured a 6-4, 6-2 victory over his opponent. Evans, currently ranked 123rd in the ATP rankings, is aiming to regain his position within the top 100. He previously reached a career-high ranking of 20 in 2017. The Wimbledon qualifying tournament is taking place at the Roehampton Club. Evans will face either Gregoire Barrere or Elias Ymer in his next match.
