Berneron Unveils Mirage Miroir Watch in 18K Gold

Independent Swiss watch brand Berneron has unveiled the Mirage Miroir, an evolution of its signature asymmetric dress watch, featuring an openworked design and an all-gold movement. The Mirage Miroir's defining characteristic is its asymmetry, which is derived from the mechanics of the watch rather than its external design. This novel "mirrored construction" approach to openworking repositions bridges and mainplate architecture to guide the viewer's eye and serve as visual cues for time-reading. The watch is meticulously crafted entirely from 18K gold, embodying a philosophy of discreet luxury and refined elegance. At the core of the Mirage Miroir is the Calibre 283, Berneron's fourth in-house developed movement. This movement measures a slim 2.83 mm in thickness and incorporates an inverted hand-setting mechanism with the hour hand positioned above the minute hand. It also features a free-sprung balance wheel for enhanced accuracy and offers a power reserve of 72 hours. To further emphasize the openwork aesthetic, the seconds counter has been intentionally omitted. Instead, the rotating seconds wheel itself functions as a running indicator for the passage of seconds. Berneron has applied decorative techniques such as guillochage, anglage, and laser engraving to enhance the movement's architectural presence, demonstrating the brand's dedication to artisanal craftsmanship. In line with Berneron's commitment to high-quality production and exclusivity, each colorway of the Mirage Miroir will be produced in a limited series of 36 pieces per year over a 10-year production cycle, designated as Series A. Initial deliveries of the watch are scheduled to commence in October 2027. The watch is water-resistant up to 30 meters and is fitted with a scratch-resistant coated Hesalite crystal. Customers have the option to configure their Mirage Miroir with either a Barenia leather strap or a matching 20mm 18K solid gold bracelet. The pricing for the Mirage Miroir is set at 72,500 CHF (approximately $89,528 USD) when equipped with the leather strap. For the configuration with the solid gold bracelet, the price is 130,250 CHF (approximately $160,842 USD).
