BEAMS PLUS and PF Flyers Unite for Military-Inspired GROUNDER BOOTS

Japanese fashion retailer BEAMS PLUS and iconic American footwear brand PF Flyers have joined forces to launch an exclusive iteration of the GROUNDER BOOTS. This collaboration reimagines the heritage Grounder Hi silhouette, infusing it with a rugged, military-inspired aesthetic that emphasizes both style and durability. The limited-edition boots are set to be released on September 4th, with a retail price of ¥28,600 JPY (approximately $182 USD), and will be available for purchase through BEAMS PLUS.

The GROUNDER BOOTS are presented in three distinct tonal colorways: Black, Olive, and Navy, each designed to offer a cohesive and utilitarian look. A key feature of this collaboration is the use of BEAMS PLUS’s original back-satin chino cloth for the uppers. This specially developed material is woven from thick cotton yarn, providing a textured, robust, and utilitarian feel that is both visually appealing and built to last. The choice of chino cloth directly references military apparel, a core element of BEAMS PLUS's design philosophy, which often draws inspiration from vintage American workwear and military uniforms.

Beyond the material, the GROUNDER BOOTS boast several functional upgrades engineered for enhanced performance and resilience. The silhouette is fortified with an expanded rubber mudguard, offering increased protection against scuffs and abrasions, particularly in challenging outdoor conditions. The outsole has been newly developed into a thick platform design featuring deep lugs. This aggressive tread pattern is specifically engineered to provide superior traction and a confident grip on a variety of terrains, including unstable surfaces, making the boots ideal for outdoor adventures.
