Armie Hammer Lifts the Lid on His Life in ‘Small, Rented House’ After Returning to L.A. in the Wake of Furious Scandal

Actor Armie Hammer, 39, has spoken publicly for the first time in years about his return to Los Angeles and attempts to rebuild his Hollywood career following a 2021 sexual assault scandal. Hammer, the great-grandson of oil tycoon Armand Hammer, faced accusations of sexual assault and cannibalism from multiple women in January 2021, which he has consistently denied. Although he was never criminally charged, the scandal led to his agency, WME, dropping him and the loss of several film roles as the industry distanced itself from the allegations. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Hammer detailed the drastic lifestyle changes he has undergone, including living in a "small, rented house" after losing his former residence. His former wife, Elizabeth Chambers, filed for divorce in 2020 while they were quarantining in the Cayman Islands, and Hammer returned to Los Angeles without a home. Prior to the scandal, Hammer and Chambers resided in a Los Angeles mansion purchased for $4.7 million in 2019.
