Arc'teryx has launched System 0™, a new design framework intended to integrate circularity throughout the entire product lifecycle for its technical apparel, while upholding the brand's established performance standards. This initiative marks a significant step towards sustainability in the outdoor gear industry. The inaugural product under the System 0™ framework is the Sperro SV jacket, a hardshell designed for multisport mountain activities. This jacket is constructed using GORE-TEX® Pro with an ePE membrane, emphasizing durability and environmental responsibility.

The Sperro SV jacket has been meticulously engineered with a focus on longevity, ease of repair, and end-of-life disassembly. It incorporates recyclable nylon components, developed in collaboration with Aquafil, a company known for its ECONYL® regenerated nylon. This partnership aims to create a closed-loop system for materials. The jacket's sustainability credentials have been validated by TESTEX®, which certified its circularity. This certification confirms the Sperro SV's capacity for long-lasting wear, straightforward repair processes, and advanced chemical recycling capabilities, positioning it as a benchmark in sustainable technical outerwear.

To further enhance its durability and lifespan, the Sperro SV jacket features reinforcements at common points of wear and tear. Arc'teryx is backing this commitment with three years of unlimited repairs through its ReBIRD™ program. This comprehensive repair service underscores the brand's "Designed to Persist™" philosophy, which prioritizes gear that can be maintained and reused, thereby diverting products from landfills. The jacket's performance and resilience have been rigorously tested by experienced alpine professionals, including members of Vancouver's North Shore Rescue team, validating its suitability for extreme conditions and its alignment with Arc'teryx's vision for gear that extends its utility beyond its initial use.
