Amex Platinum Narrows Peacock Credit Eligibility

American Express is modifying the eligibility criteria for its Platinum Card's digital entertainment statement credit, specifically impacting certain Peacock subscriptions. Effective August 1, 2026, the up to $25 monthly statement credit, which requires enrollment, will no longer apply to Peacock subscriptions that are bundled with other services, are add-on components, or were purchased through third-party platforms. This change aims to refine how the digital entertainment benefit is utilized by cardmembers.

Despite these adjustments, Peacock remains an eligible partner for the statement credit. American Express Platinum Card members can still receive the monthly credit of up to $25 (totaling $300 annually) by purchasing a stand-alone Peacock subscription directly from Peacock. The credit can also be applied to other digital entertainment partners included in the program. The updated terms distinguish between direct, stand-alone Peacock subscriptions and those obtained through indirect channels or as part of a package.

Cardholders who have been leveraging Peacock bundles, which often include multiple streaming services, to maximize their monthly digital entertainment credit may be affected by this policy update. Those who subscribe to an eligible stand-alone Peacock plan directly through the service will not need to alter their current subscription arrangements to continue receiving the benefit. The change primarily targets users who utilize bundled or third-party purchased Peacock subscriptions.
