American Airlines Plans Major DFW Hub Upgrades

American Airlines announced three significant upgrades for its primary hub at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) this week. The carrier plans to construct its largest airport lounge globally, a new 37,000-square-foot Admirals Club located in Terminal C. This expansion is part of a broader multi-billion-dollar overhaul of DFW, which was the second-busiest airport in the U.S. in 2025.

In addition to the flagship lounge, American Airlines is introducing a new premium check-in lounge specifically for passengers flying in its Flagship cabins. This dedicated facility aims to enhance the premium travel experience for these customers. The airline also revealed plans for a new grab-and-go lounge concept, which will be the first of its kind in DFW's newest terminal, offering a convenient option for travelers.

Jim Moses, American's senior vice president of DFW operations, stated in a company announcement that these investments are designed to make travel through DFW "even more seamless, comfortable and convenient." The new Admirals Club will replace an existing lounge in Terminal C and is positioned near the C21-C39 Skylink station, close to the terminal's most recent concourse. The airline has been updating its lounge designs, with the Admirals Club at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) showcasing a newer, sleeker aesthetic.
