AliExpress Fined $629 Million for Illegal Product Sales

AliExpress was fined €550 million (approximately $629 million) by the European Commission for violating the Digital Services Act (DSA) by failing to adequately prevent the sale of illegal, unsafe, or counterfeit products on its platform. The European Commission's ruling, announced on April 29, 2024, stated that AliExpress did not implement effective measures to curb the dissemination of such goods.
