Albino & Preto, atmos, ASICS Launch GEL-Kayano 12.1 Collaboration

Albino & Preto, atmos, and ASICS have unveiled a three-way collaboration centered on the GEL-Kayano 12.1, a retro-lifestyle runner reinterpreted with a pronounced athletic aesthetic. This project draws inspiration from the energetic "Volt" colorway, opting for a vibrant, performance-focused palette over a muted lifestyle selection. The footwear is presented in two distinct colorways, both adhering to a unified design philosophy. Fluorescent accents provide high visibility, directly referencing the Volt inspiration, while reflective overlays enhance the upper with a technical, light-catching element. This combination creates a competitive and motion-oriented appearance, designed to convey ongoing performance rather than static display. The foundation of the design incorporates ASICS' signature GEL cushioning, the technology that has established the Kayano line's reputation for dependable and adaptable support, ensuring the shoe is both functional and visually striking. In addition to the footwear, Albino & Preto and atmos have developed a complementary mesh apparel collection, engineered for ease of movement akin to the shoes. This kit includes performance mesh shorts and a matching polo shirt, prioritizing breathability and freedom of motion. The collection is scheduled to debut in person at JJCON on September 4, followed by an online release on September 6 at 9 a.m. exclusively through Albino & Preto's online store. The coordinated mesh apparel kit will be available solely within the US market.
