Al Jazeera cameraman Ahmed Wishah killed in Israeli attack in Gaza

Al Jazeera cameraman Ahmed Wishah was killed in an Israeli attack in Gaza on May 15, 2024. Al Jazeera strongly condemned the targeting and killing of its correspondent, Ahmed Wishah, who was working for Al Jazeera Mubasher. The news organization stated that Wishah was killed in an Israeli strike in Gaza. This incident follows a pattern of journalists being targeted in the ongoing conflict. The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) has reported that at least 95 journalists and media workers have been killed since the start of the Israel-Hamas war on October 7, 2023. Of these, 90 were Palestinian, 2 were Israeli, and 3 were Lebanese. The CPJ has also documented numerous arrests, detentions, and injuries of journalists covering the conflict in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.
