Akira 35mm Print Tour Kicks Off at BFI Southbank

A newly created 35mm print of Katsuhiro Ôtomo's seminal anime film 'Akira' will embark on a tour of cinemas across the United Kingdom and Ireland. This marks the first new 35mm print of the film to be produced globally in several decades. The print was struck from the recently completed 4K master of the film.

The debut screening is scheduled to take place at BFI Southbank in London from August 14 to August 19. Following its London premiere, the print will travel to various selected cinemas throughout the U.K. and Ireland. The distributor, Anime Limited, revealed these details, signaling a significant event for fans of the iconic cyberpunk film.
