Air France to Open Massive 29,000 Sq Ft Lounge at JFK's New Terminal One

Air France announced on Tuesday its plan to open a substantial 29,000-square-foot lounge at John F. Kennedy International Airport's (JFK) upcoming Terminal One. This new facility will represent the French flag carrier's largest lounge space outside of Paris and is expected to be approximately three times the size of its current lounge located in Terminal 1. The new Air France Lounge is positioned to be one of the most expansive lounges within any terminal at JFK, although the Delta One Lounge in Terminal 4 remains the largest at the airport. Renderings of the lounge reveal a design featuring a white and navy blue color scheme, consistent with Air France's recent lounge openings and renovations. The lounge is designed to be a multi-level space within the new terminal building, capable of hosting over 400 travelers. It will offer dedicated areas for dining, working, and relaxation, with a specific space designated for "beauty treatments." A notable feature will be an exclusive dining area offering meals prepared by a "renowned French chef," enhancing the premium experience for eligible passengers. Access to this new Air France lounge will be restricted to passengers flying in Air France or KLM's business class, or those traveling in Air France's La Première (first class) cabin to Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) on a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. This premium offering is intended to complement the airline's high-end first-class product available on multiple daily flights from JFK. Additionally, members with SkyTeam alliance Elite Plus status, which corresponds to Delta SkyMiles Gold Medallion status and above for Delta passengers, will be granted entry when traveling on qualifying itineraries. The development of this new lounge is part of a larger, multibillion-dollar project to construct the new Terminal One at JFK, which is nearing its completion. The new terminal aims to modernize and expand JFK's international travel capacity, with the Air France lounge being a significant amenity within this upgrade.
