NTREIS Launches Broker Rewards Program With Seven-Figure Payout

North Texas Real Estate Information Systems, Inc. (NTREIS) launched NTREIS Rewards on Tuesday, a new incentive program designed to return a portion of MLS-generated revenue directly to broker participants. This initiative represents a strategic shift for the Texas- and Louisiana-based Multiple Listing Service (MLS), placing broker participants at the core of its financial model. In its first year, NTREIS has allocated a seven-figure sum from its internal funds for distribution to qualifying brokers in July 2026. The program is self-funded and does not involve external data deals or brokerage partnerships.

NTREIS, which serves over 53,000 subscribers across 44 counties in Texas and Louisiana, is introducing this program amidst national pressure on MLSs concerning data control, compensation rules, and the overall value of participation. By offering a direct financial return, NTREIS aims to acknowledge and reward the brokers whose listings are fundamental to the MLS ecosystem. The initial rewards cycle will evaluate broker listing activity throughout the 2025 calendar year, considering factors such as the volume of listings entered, the quality and completeness of contributed data, and the successful closure of listings.

Future iterations of the rewards program are expected to incorporate compliance performance metrics, particularly after NTREIS assumes full compliance responsibility at the conclusion of 2026. In adherence to state licensing laws and existing MLS participation agreements, all payments will be exclusively distributed to MLS participants, defined as licensed brokers who contribute and hold ownership of the listing content within NTREIS. Individual real estate agents operating under a broker’s license are not eligible for direct distributions from this program. NTREIS CEO Chris Carrillo stated that brokers are the foundational purpose of the MLS and its primary content providers, emphasizing that their inputted listings drive the marketplace.
