JW Marriott Opens Luxury Safari Camp in Kenya

The JW Marriott Mount Kenya Rhino Reserve Safari Camp officially opened this summer within Kenya's 45,000-acre Solio Game Reserve, a private conservancy recognized for its rhino conservation initiatives. This new all-inclusive luxury safari camp features 19 tented suites and provides guests with access to the reserve's diverse wildlife and conservation efforts. The property was anticipated as one of the most significant hotel openings of 2026.

Situated between Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Mountain Range, the camp's tented suites are designed to offer an immersive experience, blending indoor comfort with outdoor views of the savannah, mountains, and watering holes. Each suite includes a private deck, a plunge pool, an indoor soaking tub, and an outdoor living area. A two-bedroom suite is available for families or groups. The camp's location within the Solio Game Reserve places guests in proximity to one of Africa's largest populations of black and white rhinos, as well as lions, leopards, zebras, and over 300 bird species.

Guests at the JW Marriott Mount Kenya Rhino Reserve Safari Camp can engage in various activities, including guided day and night game drives, walking safaris, cycling excursions, and birding. A visit to the Solio Rhino Orphanage offers insight into the reserve's conservation work, particularly the rehabilitation of orphaned rhinos. On-site amenities include a Spa by JW, an outdoor pool, a fitness center, and multiple dining options, such as the signature Mavuno restaurant and unique bush dining experiences.

The JW Marriott Mount Kenya Rhino Reserve Safari Camp is now accepting bookings. Unlike many safari accommodations, this property can be reserved using Marriott Bonvoy points, offering flexibility for travelers. The opening marks a significant addition to luxury tourism in Kenya, emphasizing both wildlife encounters and conservation.
