Volkswagen Unveils 2027 Atlas Cross Sport

Volkswagen has officially unveiled the updated 2027 Atlas Cross Sport, marking a significant refresh for the model. The redesigned SUV showcases a more modern exterior aesthetic, incorporating a new front fascia with a distinctive grille and updated LED lighting signatures. The rear also receives a revised bumper and taillight design, contributing to a more contemporary appearance. Inside, the 2027 Atlas Cross Sport boasts a substantially upgraded interior, prioritizing technology and comfort. A key highlight is the larger, standard 12-inch infotainment touchscreen, which runs Volkswagen's latest software. This system offers enhanced connectivity features and a more intuitive user interface. Complementing the central display is a standard 10.25-inch digital cockpit, providing drivers with customizable information and navigation. Volkswagen has also focused on improving the powertrain options for the 2027 Atlas Cross Sport. The previous 3.6-liter VR6 engine has been replaced by a new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This new engine is rated at 269 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque, representing an increase in both horsepower and torque compared to the outgoing VR6. This engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive (4MOTION) is available on SE, SE with Technology, and SEL trims, and standard on the SEL Premium R-Line trim. The 2027 Atlas Cross Sport also introduces a range of new standard and available driver-assistance features. These include adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot monitoring. Higher trims offer additional advanced features such as a 360-degree camera system and parking assist. The interior design emphasizes premium materials and a more refined feel. New seat designs and stitching patterns are introduced across different trim levels, aiming to elevate the cabin experience. Ambient lighting options are also expanded, allowing for greater personalization. Volkswagen has positioned the Atlas Cross Sport as a stylish and technologically advanced option within the mid-size SUV segment. The updates aim to enhance its competitive standing against rivals by offering a more compelling package of design, technology, and performance. The company has not yet released pricing details for the 2027 Atlas Cross Sport, but it is expected to go on sale in the third quarter of 2024.
