2027 Toyota Tundra Trailhunter Adds Off-Road Features

Toyota introduced the 2027 Tundra Trailhunter, a new trim level designed for off-road enthusiasts. This package draws inspiration from the smaller Tacoma Trailhunter, incorporating several enhancements to improve its ruggedness and capability.

The Trailhunter package for the Tundra includes a revised suspension system featuring Old Man Emu shocks. These shocks are specifically tuned to provide better damping and control over uneven terrain. Complementing the suspension upgrades are all-terrain tires, which offer improved grip on a variety of surfaces, from mud and gravel to rocks.

To further protect the vehicle during off-road excursions, the Tundra Trailhunter features enhanced underbody protection. This includes skid plates made from durable materials designed to shield critical components like the engine oil pan, transmission, and fuel tank from impacts with rocks and debris. The increased ground clearance also aids in navigating obstacles.

Beyond the mechanical and protective upgrades, the Tundra Trailhunter also receives aesthetic and functional modifications. These include distinctive badging and an integrated ARB onboard air compressor, which allows drivers to adjust tire pressure on the go, a crucial feature for optimizing performance and comfort in different off-road conditions. The goal is to offer a factory-built, trail-ready truck that requires fewer aftermarket modifications.
