2026 Toyota GR Corolla Premium Plus Test: The Fix Is In

Toyota released the 2026 GR Corolla Premium Plus on March 15, 2026, incorporating a series of minor enhancements aimed at refining the performance and user experience of its hot hatch.

The updated model features a revised suspension tuning, with engineers adjusting the spring rates and damper settings to improve both ride comfort and handling precision. Toyota also introduced a new exhaust system designed to deliver a more aggressive sound profile while maintaining emissions compliance. Inside, the infotainment system has been upgraded to include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard, alongside a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen display.

Further refinements include a new exterior paint option, "Circuit Red Metallic," and updated interior trim materials, such as Alcantara accents on the steering wheel and shift knob. The GR Corolla Premium Plus continues to be powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine, producing 300 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque, paired with a six-speed manual transmission and Toyota's GR-FOUR all-wheel-drive system. Pricing for the 2026 GR Corolla Premium Plus starts at $42,500, representing a modest increase over the previous model year.
